Alyson and Jed’s Sunrise desert engagement session in palm springs part 1

When one of your very best friends from middle school asks you to shoot her engagement session and Wedding you say YES! I was so flattered when Aly asked me if I would be apart of her day. It’s so weird growing up and seeing your friends progress through life, it’s hard not to see ourselves as kids making silly videos and playing truth or dare, but being able to still be in each other’s lives in one capacity or another is something I cherish.

We went back and forth for weeks on where to shoot this engagement session. Would I come out to Arizona where they lived or would they come here, or would we meet in the middle? We finally settled on palm springs and I’m so glad we did. we opted for a sunrise shoot. I got to palm springs late the night before. Aly and Jed greeted me at the hotel and then Aly and I shot back a couple of tequilas for old times sake and chatted about what we had planned for the next morning.

We woke up around 5 am to make that 6 Am sunrise and drove out to the end of Palm Springs. There’s something so beautiful about the desert in the early hours of the morning, there’s a quiet kind of peacefulness, and the pinks and purples that paint the sky and the tops of the mountains just make my heart so happy. We all sunk into the stillness of the morning and flowed right through the shoot having the best time. I got to hear so many fun stories from these two, from Golfing together to traveling to Greece. These two lead such an exciting adventurous life we played in some dirt, danced in the street, popped some champagne and cuddled up in the first sun rays of the day. Aly and Jed made this palm spring engagement session look so good, I loved Aly’s choice in outfits. She choose a more elegant look and I think against that rugged desert backdrop it looked so cool. This Palm Springs engagement session definitely made the books for one of the best sunrise sessions.

Alyson and Jed are getting married in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic in May and I’m so excited to travel across the globe with them for this epic destination wedding.
