Cassandra & Dante’s Joshua Tree engagement session

Cassandra and Dante met me out in Joshua tree national park on a Saturday. It was a windy afternoon but the sky had that stunning hazy desert light that I adore so much. Cassandra and Dante brought their sweet baby girl, Valentina with them so we could include her in a few shots, their engagement session also became a little family session which was so sweet.

We drove through the park to a spot I had scouted earlier that day. I decided I would bring my family along for the trip this time. My husband and Daughter ventured off on their own adventure to find the wildlife of Joshua tree. Cassandra, Dante their daughter and I headed down the trail for our shoot. Dante set up Valentina’s little playpen in the middle of the desert, trying to entertain a baby and photograph her parents at the same time is hard work guys haha. So we scooped her up and put her in the shoot. I have to tell you guys some of these shots might be my most favorite family shots I have ever taken, The way Valentina Snuggled up in her mom’s arms and the three of them just kind of relaxed into each other ugh it made my heart so happy.

Then my little fam came back just in time for me to make them babysit, so I could finish up the engagement shoot.

It was an amazing day filled with so much love and being able to bring my own family out with me to Joshua tree was so great. Being a wedding and engagement photographer can sometimes be a little lonely, you work alone a lot in your editing cave, so being able to share what I do with my family once in a while is such a great experience.
