You may remember these gorgeous people from an epic beach engagement session a few months back (it had some stunning lifts and kissing in the waves shots). Their original venue was in La Jolla at the Seaside Forum, but Covid put a stop to that. So they went from one beautiful ocean view to another. They found this amazing house in Malibu that had such a Italian Villa feel and the views were absolutely stunning! I was a little nervous about the last minute change being so far from San Diego because I had to catch an early flight the next morning for a Sedona Wedding. But being flexible comes with the job and it worked marvelously. All the vendors pulled out all the stops for this special covid wedding. I mean the florals (have I mentioned how much I LOVE the dried floral trend right now?!), the planner, the decorator- just incredible, truly!
From start to finish I was in awe of the beauty and elegance of this wedding. From the stair case first look, to the lively dance party to conclude, and everything in between. Colleen and Cole’s loving relationship was reflected in all the friends and family that surrounded them on this special day. The guests contribute so much to the wedding energy, and let me tell you, these guests- they rocked it!
I’ve been feeling the intimate wedding vibe that Covid is pushing on us- but this wedding really tipped the scales for me. When you see an intimate wedding done in this particular way, it just makes me want to shoot microweddings all the time! Also something else that is coming from Covid weddings- brides being chill and flexible and open to change. Colleen was a true hero. She had the best attitude. She had to readjust her entire wedding- from venue to guest list- and she totally went with the flow. Something for all brides to aspire to.
